How we Provide Effective Civil Car Park Construction Services

Although each car park is unique, we have a tried and proven method to always achieve the required outcome:

  • The first stage is to conduct a thorough survey and analysis of the site. This will establish its size, features and any obstacles, and will include a soil analysis to determine if the ground is stable or is likely to be prone to erosion or settling and will need to be compacted.
  • A design for the car park will be produced and approved. This will show vehicle entrances and exits, the direction of traffic flows, pedestrian areas, pay stations, lighting and security features, and the layout and size of parking bays. The aim is to make maximum use of the space available with standard parking bays arranged in the most appropriate configurations and with the provision of disabled, parent and child, and electric vehicle charging bays.
  • The site is cleared of obstacles, levelled and compacted if necessary, so that a suitable base for the car park is formed.
  • Effective drainage is essential to prevent the car park becoming waterlogged after rain. Channels and catch basins will be excavated and underground pipes will be installed to efficiently manage water run-off.
  • A sub-base will be installed to provide a solid foundation for the car park and ensure the durability and longevity of the surface.
  • The whole area will be surfaced with the most suitable material. These materials include asphalt for strength, concrete for long life, resin for its good looks and permeable nature, reinforced gravel for economy and block paving that is appealing and easy to repair. Kerbs will be laid, footpaths and bays marked, and landscaping added.
  • Lighting will be installed along with signage, pay machines, CCTV and ANPR cameras, and entry and exit barriers if needed.
